OMG! Will Saif Ali Khan’s Upcoming Film Kaalakaandi Release ONLY On Digital Platforms?
The buzz has created a flutter in the trade circles and a panic of sorts. But why is the film not releasing at cinemas? Find out...
SpotboyE.com has learnt that Saif Ali Khan’s next film
Kaalakaandi that was to release in theatres on November 8, might only have
an ONLINE RELEASE now.
The decision is being debated over several meetings that
have taken place at Cinestaan Film Company, after Chef fell flat on its face on
Day 1 of its release, and never recovered. The film managed to make Rs 3-4
Crore over the first weekend, suffering huge financial losses.
Cinestaan Film Company that funded the project has been
worried sick. Their earlier funded project was Mirzya, a film that’s box-office
collections were nothing to write home about. This time, Cinestaan may not want
to take a chance.
Saif Ali Khan In Kaalakaandi
This is a big COLLATERAL DAMAGE. The Kaalakaandi news has
created a flutter in the trade circles and a panic of sorts. Every actor goes
through a rough phase but Saif’’s bad spell at the box-office has stretched a
little too long for comfort, producers are worried. Why are his films not
working? None of his recent films have clicked. Rangoon (2017), Phantom (2015),
Happy Ending (2014), Humshakals (2014), Bullet Raja (2013) and Agent Vinod
(2012) haven’t had a happy ending, financially. Race (2013) and Cocktail
(2012) did well but unfortunately, the actor lost his way again.
What is the disconnect? Is the Nawab of Pataudi choosing
the wrong scripts or is it just a spell of bad luck?
We are sure that Saif is not enjoying it, neither are we
and considering his talent, it shouldn’t be long before he bounces back.
A Still From Kaalakaandi
Produced by Cinestaan Film Company, directed and written
by Akshat Verma, Kaalakaandi would have hit theatres on November 8, under
normal circumstances. Now, let’s see what the final call is. A source from the
production house, who did not want to be named said, “This buzz is not true.
The film will hit theatres.” Wonder why this source spoke only on condition of
anonymity.
We sent a long text to Raj Malik, head honcho of
Cinestaan but he chose to NOT respond.
Saif too refused to comment.
We don’t feel that his debacles call for desperate
measures and hope Cinestaan will give due justice to Kaalakaandi.
